Save World from Disaster, Hugh Hughes, Things I Forgot I Remembered
Artist Hugh Hughes, returns to his native Anglesey, with "Things I Forgot I Remembered", a National Theatre Wales (NTW) co-production with HoiPolloi.
Saving the World from Disaster!NTW and HoiPolloi will launch the month-long residency throughout June in Llangefni Town Hall on Thursday, 30 May 2013.
In his debut on Anglesy, thr enigmatic Hugh will share his reflections of the island with audiences in his quirky, waspish way, on stage, in the press, on film and in audio broadcasts.
Hugh's mission is to about sharing his creativity by reaching out and making connections. Reflecting on his childhood dreams, over the past six months Hugh has been working like a Trojan.
And the result of his work?
A quixotic mission to save the world from impending disaster - presented in this absolutely hilarious one-man show.
And yet Hugh is no emerging artist as such, but prefers to be seen as an ordinary man, so art breaks free from its boundaries.
The mont long residency will feature gigs, local bands, an Assembly and DIY Festival.
There will be collaboration with local artists across all disciplines as part of NTW's WalesLab Initiative, with a WalesLab summer camp and festival between 14-16 June, while the Anglesey Assembly, a forum for lively debate and performance, will be on 20 June.
