Anglesey Monopoly Game
World famous board game Monopoly will launch a special island edition this year. Vote for your favourite Anglesey landmark today and you may see it on the board after October.
This is when Winning Moves, manufacturer of the Monopoly game board, estimates the product will be ready to hit the High Street and online sales venues.
So forget Mayfair, Pentonville Road, Old Kent Road and Liverpool Street Station, now is the time to look forward to some new names to stand out.
How about seeing our very own
South Stack Lighthouse or UNESCO World Heritage site
Beaumaris Castle or perhaps
Llynnon Mill at Llanddeusant, the last working windmill in Wales.
With the globally recognised, iconic, grade II listed,
Holyhead Breakwater forming the historic Holyhead harbour in West Anglesey, there is a case for including Newry Beach, now under threat if a proposed development goes ahead.
With such a beautiful coastline, now with its officially recognised 125-mile long
Anglesey Coastal path, the island also has a number of top quality, award winning beaches which could feature on this special version of the Monopoly game.
Among the island beaches which could be considered are
Llanddwyn beach, where Demi Moore filmed "Half Light" and
Trearddur Bay, a great location for sailing and where Price William and Catherine Middleton recently launched a new inshore lifeboat.
If you are looking to include a wildlife theme, two possibilities are Newborough Forest and
Cestyll Garden, near to Cemaes Bay on the north side of the island.
An industrial theme could include the
airport at RAF Valley where Prince William works as a helicopter search and rescue pilot, Holyhead Port with its
ferry links to Dublin, and
Wylfa Nuclear Power Station.
Remember you must send in your entries by the closing date which is 12 noon on 14 May 2011.
