Island Dunes Lakes and Golf Links

by Publicity Officer
(Friends of Anglesey Coastal Path)

On a cold, bright morning sixteen Friends of the Anglesey Coastal Path set off from near RAF Valley airfield and followed an inland route past Llyn Dinam and Llyn Traffwll.

These two lakes looked very dramatic as their surfaces were a mass of ‘white horses’ due to the blustery wind.

Along the way we noticed a variety of early Spring flowers including Dog Violet, Spring Squill, Marsh Marigold, Wild Pansy, Bluebells etc etc.

Crossing Tywyn Trewan Common and the golf course we escaped the wind by lunching among the sand dunes near Rhosneigr.

We returned to our parking place along the windswept sandy beach, and all thanked Ron, the leader, for an invigorating and scenic walk.
